An Afternoon at Memphis Chess Club

One of the things I really love is exploring new places in Memphis. Contrary to the complaints, Memphis has a lot of places to experience and enjoy. In my opinion, experiences don't have to be grand events with all the frills. Sometimes, just finding a place to learn something new, meet cool people, or just have a glass of wine and work can be a rich experience.

Although I've been to Memphis Chess Club numerous times, I felt I should give it a complete story. Many cool places such as this chill spot need more recognition. Memphis Chess Club located downtown on Madison Ave has a cool laid back vibe that is truly unique and special. What happens at the chess club is and should be what Memphis experiences are all about. You get really great food and cocktails, play the game of chess or any other games, and you can also just hang out, study, or work-- your choice.

You can probably feel the vibes. But, Memphis Chess Club has a full adult cocktail menu. You can totally go here on a day date. Honestly, it's giving "do something different date". While sipping on a glass of Pinot Grigio or the signature cocktail- King of Memphis, you and your date could learn how to play chess. Let me tell you it's nothing like a smart, sexy, and intellectual date night. You know smart people play chess, honey. Not only can you play chess but you can also choose from the many board games or flip through a really extensive chess library and archive.

The many times I've gone though have been to elevate my coworking sessions. Sometimes, I don't like the vibe of coffee shops and seek a different experience. I chose Memphis Chess Club in those instances. I order a pizza- the Anand pizza, a glass of wine, pull out my laptop, turn on a really cute playlist, and just enjoy the atmosphere.

There are so many other really cool things that Memphis Chess Club offers. For one, kids 12 and under eat free on Tuesdays from 5 pm-7 pm with an adult entree purchase. They also have free open play as well for those with a membership or $5 for non members. And, you can also rent spaces out for events too. How different is that?
