It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to my son, Jasiel Garcia.
He was born on June 12th, 2019 at 4:36 pm and weighed 6 pounds and 11 ounces with a height of 20.5 inches. We wanted him to have a bilingual name but I didn’t like any names of Mexican origin. We decided on Jasiel, a common Afro Dominican name, that sounded similar to my husband’s name Daniel.
I knew as we grew closer to delivery I would be conscious of quieting noise. Jasiel’s birth was a testament of faith, hope and love. Our family really wanted to experience his birth privately and without capturing many phone pictures. We wanted to be present. It was a great decision.
After a week of being in prodomal labor, losing my mucus plug, and having a scheduled induction, I grew so tired of being pregnant. THEN! Jasiel decided he would make his appearance when it was his divine time. My water broke unexpectedly a week before my induction at 7am. Labor was quick but beyond intense. I was surrounded by a beautiful team of women who loved on me and delivered my son vaginally with no complications.
I just wanted to share a quick update that we are all healthy, happy, and so in love with the newest addition to the family. Jasiel is a calm and sweet baby. He’s so well loved. Just in case, you are wondering Amira is so happy to be a big sister and gives him a million kisses a day.
