Happy Birthday to Me--and Happy New Year
My birthday is here and I can honestly say I'm so excited to see a new year and get one year wiser. Birthdays are always new beginnings for me and when I celebrate the new year. It's personal year number 6 for me and Saturn finally leaves Sagittarius, last night actually. There is a new sun, hello winter and a new moon. Can you say with me????? The universe is ready to bless me with new beginnings. Plus my age broken down is 10 and that energy brings with it new beginnings, motivation, activity and progress.
To celebrate I booked a photo session with my friend, Kim of KPFUSION because she's my friend and a bomb ass photographer who knows how to capture my energy. I was excited about these pictures because for the first time in my life, I chose to celebrate myself and my birthday. I don't ever do that. There was an intent to find a red balloon and sort of recreate my interpretation of Albert Lamorisse's 1956 short film, The Red Balloon movie. The movie and it's symbolism has always resonated with me and I wanted to tell the story using my thoughts and words. Couldn't find a red balloon in time but nevertheless I found black star balloons, even better lol. Balloons can symbolize your hopes and dreams rising up to the heavens. They also represent childhood innocence and total freedom. Totally, my theme for this year.
SO CHEERS TO ME, LIFE, NEW BEGINNINGS AND LOOKING THIS DAMN GOOD AT 37 AND A MOTHER OF AN 8 YEAR OLD.
