I would like to end the year reflecting and looking back on my experiences I've had by sharing myself as a content creator. Often times, we don't really take a step back to see all of the accomplishments and experiences, good or bad. I know for me, I am very ambitious and also a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to getting things done and measuring success. I pulled a few of my favorites month by month also checked some analytics for top performing posts to share with you all.

I entered 2017 knowing that this year I would fade out a lot of previous work I had done. I knew that my voice on this platform would change. I came into the new year with an intentional plan to began slowly introducing new content. I started making DIY videos on YouTube beginning with a DIY COWL NECK DRESS. Pretty cool because as of right now, there have been like 2k views on a platform sadly I haven't been too consistent with. I'll try to do better in 2018.

I was also frustrated with the narratives and direction of style blogging. I felt as though blogging had gone in a direction that I was bored with...consumption and links to things to buy lol. I wanted to begin using storytelling with my content to give my readers more depth. Hence, my first style post of the year, EMBRACE. I wanted to inspire women to embrace who they are at that very moment.

The storytelling was received really well so I kept it going with a cute little love letter to myself in a sexy little black bodysuit number.

Spring was finally peaking through and I was so ready to get outside and begin exploring. I also felt like adding more authentic yet creative content to the blog. I began a new series BEAUTY AND THE FOOD sharing all of the hidden gems of international restaurants here and the respective beauty secrets of each culture.

Spring was finally here and it's peak season for me. I work work work work from April until well into fall. What a great beginning to my work season!!! I hosted my first tour and talk presentation with ART BY DESIGN and it was phenomenal. I realized a way to transform content on my blog into an entirely different and elevated platform.

Momentum was now rolling and I was booked to work with The Salvation Army on a three part ad campaign promoting Earth Day. WHAT A THRILL! I shot my first campaign with the style campaign showing readers how easy it is to create outfits using reclaimed pieces and a home feature as well.

Halfway through the year and it was now both sizzling hot outside and with the blog. I had a collaboration with TOBI showing you all how to style a bralette with taste. lol.

I flew out to Los Angeles for a day then drove back across the United States on a road trip. ONE OF MY HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2017 and apparently my readers really enjoyed reading about my experience.

During that two day ride back, I was able to share my latest work with the Memphis Flyer, the FALL ISSUE. It's always a pleasure working with the Flyer and this shoot was beyond fun. I had the chance to meet some new people and pull from super cool retailers here in the city.

In the best month of the entire year, DECEMBER, I celebrated my life, my accomplishments and began a celebratory toast to the new year. WHAT A YEAR!!! It was a year of balance, a year of ups and downs, more ups or reasons to celebrate the ups lol. I tried so many new things and with that I discovered a love of food and experiences, holistic health and  more.

The biggest lesson in 2017 was that I am indeed more than just fashion and style. My voice has changed and what I'd like to use this platform for is more than just showing you what I wear or what you should wear. Of course, I love fashion and style but there was a bigger narrative. There is a way to use style as a source of inspiration. ByAndreaFenise for 2018 hopefully will inspire you to evolve as women and creators. It will help you design and curate a life of intent, of meaning and substance.

What type of content would you like more of in 2018?

Thank you all for helping to make 2017 a wonderful year.
