My Latest Project : Photo Shoot and Ad Design with Amira

In mommy world, things are sometimes a tad chaotic and not planned out properly. And, sometimes, well a lot of times, a Mommy has to do what she has to do. Like, you miss a couple of emails about ballet program advertisements due date then suddenly remember oh s%^&, I really need to do my part as a mom and get Amira's ad in. I knew she wanted to see herself in the program. So I pulled up my sleeves and fluffed out the Mommy cape and made it happen, captain. Here is my latest project for Amira a very impromptu photo shoot and ad layout for her program.

I realized around 1 p.m. I needed to stop procrastinating and get her ad in or I would be a bad Mommy for at least two weeks. I conceptualized the plan while running errands. I would get Amira Chik Fil A immediately before I picked her up from school, run home do her hair and glisten her up with oil after a long day at school. I know your kids come home looking rather dry and worn out. Next, would be getting her in wardrobe and run to the Brooks Museum to shoot her. I literally had a time window span of 6pm to shoot her and layout the ad.

We all know we have a short window of time before kids convince you they are dying of heat stroke, hunger and boredom, so I had to make it rather snappy. Literally, after 5 minutes in the sun, I was losing time her and her focus. Watch my Instastory highlights, no joke --she was so ready to get back into the air-conditioned car.

We got the shot!!!!!! I got extra just for her to have memories and we print some files out for home art and memories. The shot above is what I used for the layout. I needed as much white space as possible because I wanted to be able to literally cut her out and place her in front of floral images. It worked.

Collaborating with this little girl brings me so much joy. Sometimes, things may not be all planned out strategically. Often times, you just go through the flow, push through and create very beautiful memories to reflect back on.
