CLASSIC STYLE : THREE WAYS TO STYLE A TURTLENECK
Okay Okay, we totally get it. It is WINTER in Memphis. The temperatures have now gone well into the negative. Snow and ice have taken over our plans for the entire week including schools. Can you believe these kids have been out of school for an entire week? In taking an ode to winter style and school days, let's talk about your favorite thing to wear to school in the winter---the turtleneck.
Now I'll be a stylish dork and admit I love a good turtleneck. I always have thought it was both chic, warm and practical. And, actually in grade school every time I wore a turtleneck, I would channel my inner French school girl. If you have never been a fan of the turtleneck, allow me to try to persuade you into realizing the turtleneck should be a winter wardrobe staple. Once you have figured out new and interesting ways to wear the classic turtleneck I think you'll love it. One simple tip is to experiment with different colors, so it's not a total bore. Secondly, I'd always trust one of my styling secrets pair with a good denim piece and you'll instantly feel pulled together. Here are some inspiration pictures of how to style a turtleneck.
IN LIVING COLOR
Color, kind of just does its own thing. A pop of color always does styling a turtleneck good, IMO. Go bold with an array of shades bright greens or cozy mustards paired with fun accessories makes the look more of a statement.
CLASSIC WHITE WITH A TWIST
My love for crisp white turtlenecks will never fade. I think it is an undeniably classic look. Styling a white turtleneck is simple and effortless because you can build the look up with accessories, chunky boots or fun, and textured blazers.
So you need to look pulled together even when you are cold? Style an oversized turtleneck in different weights, oversized or classic, striped or black with a good pair of denim. Denim and turtlenecks are probably my favorite pairings because of the endless denim options now. Whether you are into a relaxed fit in a boyfriend jean, skinnies, or black denim pairing the turtleneck makes you look casually elegant. HA!
Maybe I have persuaded you into realizing how easy and cool you'll look in a turtleneck.
