#showyourwork : Zii x Rock Your Crown
There is always a story to tell of how you began to work with a client. I think my story of working with Zii and her brands is a great and motivating story. It has chapters and climaxes that prove that "all you have to do is do it right the first time". Here's my chance to tell our story and show my work....
I began working with Zii during Rock Your Crown Beauty Brunch and Empowerment Workshop as a blogger for event coverage. For many who don't know the details of event coverage, simply I documented my experience during the event and shared on my social media platforms. I also curated original content using images and a write up for post event coverage about the event and my experience. It wasn't contrived or force because Rock Your Crown is an event worthy of all of praise.
INTERACTIVE PRESS KIT
Here is where the story and the chapter begins to unfold... I received an email from the Rock Your Crown Team to work with the staff again for event coverage and also for branding work. Zii inquired about using my services to write a press kit for Rock Your Crown. I was honored to begin working with a client that using graphic design elements and creativity. I had become familiar with her brand and really desired to a bit of style to standard press releases. I knew Zii's brand and her professional personality so she was the perfect client. Inspired by the softness and grace of her style but the strength and consistency of her brand, I designed an interactive press release to reflect her brand style. I built interactive features like embedded video reels so that her press kit stood out. The traditional elements were important as well like the history of RYC, demographics and social media.
STYLED PRESS RELEASE
As I stated, there is always a climax and pivotal moments in a story where things turn. Immediately after Rock Your Crown 2017, Zii connected with me to share her a new chapter and evolution with the release of her album---Crowned Affirmations. Zii was looking for a clear and defined way to communicate to the media and her followers that she was a multifaceted entrepreneur, makeup artist and also an artist. What was essential for me was to craft branded materials that clearly and eloquently communicated her message.
