Lunch At Crazy Noodle

Memphis welcome to Crazy Noodle, if you haven't been. The restaurant is a quintessential Midtown restaurant. Tucked off in a little corner, seriously, it's in the space to the left of Kwik Chek on Madison in Overton Square. It's one of those cool local restaurants that's hip, eclectic and sure to have amazing food because you find locals eating there very often. Crazy Noodle offers Korean food that you can't just find on any given Monday. This past Monday, we stopped in for lunch to try some new food--well my lunch date had eaten there before. I haven't so I was pretty excited.

I knew immediately when I walked through the door--Crazy Noodle is my kind of local restaurant. It's not too concerned with the pomp and circumstance. It's all about food and making good food. You see noodles being handmade, local art posters, house plants, graffiti and toys----yassssss! The entire restaurant's window ledge is decorated with the coolest action figures, dolls and superheroes from childhood.

We ordered Kimbap to start with and was notdisappointed at all. Every bite was worth savoring. The pairing of fried egg, shitake mushroom and korean pickled radish was not something I would just be super amped to try. Now, I'll try it over and over again. We ordered two different meal options to share--Crazy Noodle and Lunchbox. No, I'll be honest the Crazy Noodle was a bit spicy, good but spicy. Lunchbox was a filling and I loved that we were able to try so many things within one dish. Please go in prepared to get the full Asian dining experience, no eating utensils are given, forks and knives--no. Chopsticks will be offered and thankfully those not too skilled can read the diagram on the menu.
