ELYSE PICKLE OF ARCHER MALMO
We’re doing work we love, work that inspires us, and we’re also pursuing our passions and making them priorities. In our latest Working Woman series, we took a field trip downtown to the office of the beautiful Elyse Pickle of digital strategist for Archer Malmo. Meet Elyse Pickle ...
+ YOU MOVED TO MEMPHIS AND NOW WORKING AT ARCHER MALMO, HOW DID THAT SHIFT IN LOCATION AND CULTURE IMPACT YOUR APPROACH TO YOUR WORK? I moved from St. Louis to Memphis about a year and a half ago for love and career. I was working for the St. Louis Rams (previous to Archer Malmo) and the culture was FANTASTIC, but totally different. The NFL is a totally different ballgame (no pun intended) and I was definitely seen as the "crazy creative/digital girl with a Mac". However, at the Rams and also at Archer Malmo, I've had the opportunity to really stretch my brain and push boundaries. I am lucky to say that I've had some pretty badass jobs.
+ FAVE PLACES IN MEMPHIS? Cafe Eclectic. That veggie burger wrap though... and they have diet coke.
+ WHAT ARE 5 OF YOUR DAILY HABITS? Workout, Drink Diet Coke, Call Mom, Reapply Lipstick, Meditate.
+ HOW DO YOU THINK CREATIVITY CONTRIBUTES TO SOME OF THE WORLD’S BIGGER CONVERSATIONS AND WHAT ROLE IS YOUR WORK PLAYING IN THIS SHIFT IN THINKING? As creatives and advertisers, I believe we hold a lot of power in affecting change. Our images, billboards, messages, websites, posts - what have you - can influence decision or perception. Well, that's usually the general idea with an advertisement. So, knowing that, I think my role (and that of my colleagues) is to be responsible with that power and make sure the message we're sending out is the right, and ethical, one.
+ WHETHER IT’S LIFE, STYLE, WORK AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN WHO IS YOUR WORKING GIRL CRUSH ? My big sister, Sarah. I honestly don't know how she juggles being a DOCTOR (she's the smarter sister!), a mother, wife, and all-around Wonder Woman. Total inspiration.
+ HOW WOULD YOU ADVISE WOMEN WHO ARE MAKERS, CREATIVE/FASHION PROFESSIONALS OR PEOPLE IN GENERAL TO LEAVE IN AN IMPRINT IN THE DIGITAL WORLD JUST BY DOING WHAT THEY LOVE? Always be kind but maintain your assertiveness. I'd always rather be called the "Boss Babe" and not a "Boss B*tch".
