Video : Money Diaries -- Week 4 of April 2019 -- Freelancing and Frustrated

The intention of blogging in this #40before40 series was to be fully transparent in my journeys. Back in 2007, I faithfully read Chicky Finance’s blog like I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner. She was sharing in a very reflective journaling style (good ole blogging days) her path of saving a particular amount of money. I was so inspired by her transparency and discipline.

When I decided to start my #40before40 series, I wanted to emulate her transparency. In the day and age of blogging and online sharing, many people do not share the “downs” of their journeys. I will continue my promise of being fully transparent on any journey I share rather it is motherhood, business, and even my finances. This week, as I went back through my money diary there were moments where I thought I really shouldn’t share this. For a few moments, I was embarassed, frustrated, and stressed about the desires to break free from the financial situation I am in. It’s so hard as a freelancer to sometimes see the light at the end of this gloomy tunnel. This is real life though. Not a highlight reel. So I am sharing my real journey in the first of many video diaries, not just what I want you to see.
